You always had the heaviest of hearts,
and my helpless hands never had the strength.
Neither to nurture nor to support,
leaving me to watch it sink from the south,
from a nowhere northern hemisphere
across the globe on separate shores.
To watch it sink, then slowly start to break,
distant in the state of Georgia detached,
from Georgia back home, Georgia alone.
Georgia no more, Georgia evermore.
